Welcome to WHOAA Land, by WHOAA, is What Music is Missing.
Genre defying duo Ring and Dolla's newest project is a journey into the past, present, and future.
Retro fusion duo WHOAA recently surprised longtime and new fans on social media when they announced the release of their latest project, Welcome to WHOAA Land. Created by singer Ring and emcee Dolla, engineered and mixed by accomplished music veterans Ray Seay and Kenny Mixx, and produced by Mike Maven and Through the Static, the nine-track creation takes listeners on a ride through multiple sounds, eras, and emotions.
Perfectly crafted and curated to replicate the feeling of music in the past, the album’s tracklisting and production encourages listeners to listen through, taking them on a rollercoaster ride from the opening track, “Puppet, (Come Find Me), to the middle where Atlanta influenced track, “Stir It Up” comes into play.
A kaleidoscope of influences that reflect their duality, WTWL embraces soul, pop, funk and rap. It is evident from the production, choruses, and lyrics that fusing all of these sounds and rejuvenating them is essential to their creed. WHOAA, an acronym for When Hearts Open And Attract, is the perfect name for this group whose aim is to take the music of their childhood and reframe it for a newer audience.
For WHOAA, who have spent the last five years working hard on crafting their sound, their latest project brings a mix of emotions forth including adulation, anticipation, and accomplishment as they continue to elevate their brand on social media sites like TikTok and Instagram.
Thanks to the release of popular singles such as “Hey Freddy”, and the infectious “Weekend Song (Hey DJ), the group has found their songs going viral, accumulating over 1 million views and opening the door for endorsements with brands such as Universal Studios City Walk where the group regularly performs.
